Teacher Sensitivity Matters: Building Inclusive Classrooms for Neurodiverse Learners

Every child learns, communicates, and experiences the world differently. As educators, understanding these differences is the foundation of creating classrooms where every student feels seen, supported, and able to thrive.

Based on The CHINI Trust's 2nd Annual Lecture, conducted in collaboration with NIMHANS, Bengaluru, this course explores the principles of neurodiversity and their practical application in everyday classroom settings. Drawing on research, clinical expertise, and real-world educational experiences, the course helps educators move beyond viewing behaviour as a challenge to understanding it as a form of communication.

Through six structured modules, participants will develop a deeper understanding of neurodivergence, recognise diverse learning and communication profiles, respond sensitively to students' emotional and behavioural needs, implement inclusive classroom strategies, navigate common classroom challenges, and strengthen partnerships with families.

Designed for teachers, school leaders, special educators, counsellors, and anyone working with children, this course offers practical, evidence-informed strategies to foster empathy, inclusion, and meaningful learning for all students.
